Manufacturer
of-stone
of-stone is the surface brand of dubbel design GmbH in Kirchlengern, North Rhine-Westphalia. The rollable mineral real-stone surfaces consist of 95 % natural mineral material from the limestone and marble family and are hand-made in Germany, every roll a one-off. With of-stone.AKUSTIC the manufacturer carries the principle over into room acoustics: a densely perforated stone surface only approx. 1 mm thick that is worked like wallpaper and allows acoustically effective build-ups with a visible stone finish.

Description
of-stone.AKUSTIC is a rollable mineral real-stone surface with dense perforation: approx. 1 mm thick, 95 % natural mineral material from the limestone and marble family on a fabric core, approx. 1 kg/m². The rolls (2800 × approx. 980 mm) can be cut with a utility knife, bonded to almost any substructure with standard adhesive systems, or applied directly like wallpaper, including over curves and tight radii. Available in five colour shades from light to dark; every roll is a hand-made one-off. Acoustically, the perforation makes the stone permeable: in the impedance-tube test series by Fuchs Raumingenieure (DIN EN ISO 10534-2) the absorption of a 50 mm Basotect backing with the of-stone coating applied is retained almost in full. This allows highly absorbent build-ups with an unbroken stone appearance, for example in combination with an acoustic fleece. For full-surface wall mounting without an absorber backing, the manufacturer states frequency-dependent absorption values in the datasheet.
