BVS Akustik

BVS Akustik GmbH & Co. KG from Verl (East Westphalia) has been active in the furniture industry since 1990 and produces custom acoustic panels with CNC saws, purpose-built drilling lines and an in-house laser system. Almost all board materials are processed: solid wood, veneered, composite and decor boards, each cut, edge-finished and lacquered to the customer's specification. The range covers drilled (AKUSTIbohr), micro-perforated (AKUSTIpur), slotted (AKUSTIpan) and sound-absorbing partition elements (AKUSTItrenn), each in numerous hole patterns and build-up depths. The elements are available in fire classes B1 and B2 and, for sports halls, with certified ball-impact resistance. References include Princeton University, NYU and the Emser Therme.

Description

AKUSTIpur nano is an acoustic panel from BVS, nano-perforated on both sides, whose extremely fine perforation with a standard diameter of 0.5 mm, and from 0.2 mm on request, is lasered almost invisibly into the surface. The double-layer front, perforated on both sides, is suited to use as an acoustically effective furniture front, preserves wood grain and decors in their natural expressiveness and avoids visual irritation thanks to the fine hole pattern. Veneers, lacquers, decors and laminates in high-gloss, PerfectSense or textured finishes are available for the surface; laser production delivers the highest surface quality without break-outs. Perforation covers the full surface or leaves unperforated edge margins, and areas for fittings stay unperforated in the base board. Standard formats are 2000 x 600 mm and 2770 x 600 mm, with a maximum of 3500 x 1300 mm; tested grids at 0.5 mm diameter are 1.8 mm, 2 mm and 3/1.5 mm. Acoustically, the panel only becomes effective through the interplay of the fine nano-perforation, the double-layer build-up and the cavity behind, which converts incident sound into heat. Sound absorption is determined in the reverberation room per EN ISO 354 and rated per EN ISO 11654, supplemented by the NRC. For design work the full third-octave curve matters alongside the weighted single-number rating and the NRC, not the single figure on its own. BVS provides the corresponding test protocols as a download for all surfaces.
