raumton GmbH from Berlin plans, manufactures and installs sound absorbers for rooms in which people speak: open-plan and single offices, conference and presentation rooms, play and learning rooms as well as meeting and dining areas. The range runs from ceiling and wall absorbers through baffles, stretch ceilings and cubes to free-standing partition and floor absorbers. The absorber core is melamine resin foam or PET acoustic fleece, both free of artificial and natural mineral fibres, halogens and CFCs. For the fabric covering, more than 300 colours and textures are available in polyester, pure new wool, blended fabrics or non-combustible glass fabric. All products are made to bespoke dimensions.

Freestanding

Description

The free-standing absorber is not permanently installed but placed in the room and acts as an edge absorber where the sound pressure reaches its maximum. Turning it switches between two operating modes: as a mid- and high-frequency absorber for the speech-relevant range and as a low-frequency resonance absorber against room modes. The covering is available in polyester, pure new wool or blended fabrics, the square top and base surfaces optionally in black, white or real wood. The sturdy top surface also serves as a shelf. The absorber can be used as a single element or as a permanently joined stacked unit and can be fitted with castors.
